HAL Prepares to Export First Dhruvs

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) announced that it is ready to deliver the first five of seven Dhruv helicopters to the South American country of Ecuador, its first overseas rotorcraft customer. HAL, based in Bangalore, India, plans to ship the twin-engine, 14 to 16-passenger aircraft by way of an Antonov An-124 freighter, the largest winged air transport vehicle in the world.
