AgustaWestland Reveals AW139M
Italian helicopter maker AgustaWestland has introduced a militarized version of the AW139. The “M” variant is a being offered for the U.S. Air Force’s Common Vertical Lift Support program. The manufacturer plans to build and assemble the AW139M at its facility in Philadelphia, Pa. It will feature a number of enhancements, including self-protection equipment such as infrared detection and countermeasures, a FLIR camera, upgraded avionics and specialized heavy landing gear.
