AH-1Z and UH-1Y Try C-5 On For Size

This week, a team of Airmen and Marines met at Travis Air Force Base in California to examine the best ways to load the Marine Corps new AH-1Z and UH-1Y helicopters aboard an Air Force Lockheed Martin C-5 Galaxy transport plane. These two latest models of the venerable Cobra and Huey helicopters stand slightly taller and wider than previous variants, prompting Air Force loadmasters to see if any changes would have to be made to the way they are loaded for transport to the battlefield, as well as how many can be carried at one time.
