Contact Covers Analysis of ‘New Capabilities’ for V-22
The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command has issued a $14.6-million contact to the Amarillo, Texas-based Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office. The agreement covers research and engineering technical analysis of “new capabilities” for the V-22. The analysis will apply to both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy V-22 fleets. More than half of the work (around 55 percent) is set to take place at Boeing’s facility in Ridley Park, Pa., with the rest carried out at Bell Helicopter’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Completion is projected in June 2019.
