Army Orders 39 UH-72A Lakotas
EADS North America has received a U.S. Army contract for 39 UH-72A Lakota light utility helicopters. The $212-million contract will involve 32 Lakotas outfitted with a mission equipment package (MEP) being delivered to the Army’s security and support (S&S) battalion. Those helicopters will enter service with the Army National Guard. EADS has delivered a total of 198 Lakotas to the Army through early January, with a total of 345 helicopters expected by 2015.
