Huey's Final Flight

The Georgia Army National Guard retired its last UH-1 Huey. In a ceremony yesterday at the Winder Regional Airport, the Huey was flown from Winder to Temple, Texas where it may be refurbished and reused by a foreign government or may be used for spare parts. The 832nd Air Ambulance Company is transitioning to six HH-60Ms that will begin to arrive in 2009. They currently have one medevac configured Alpha Model Black Hawk. The 832nd has 45 personnel and many will return to Ft. Rucker for training on the HH-60Ms. For related news
