Columbia Secures $98-Million Afghanistan Contract
Aurora, Ore.-based Columbia Helicopters has obtained a $97.8-million contract from the U.S. Transportation Command related to aircraft and support services in Afghanistan. Running until Oct. 31, 2013, the arrangement calls for Columbia to provide helicopters, pilots, mechanics and support personnel, as well as tools and maintenance. Transcom also struck agreements with AAR, Canadian Helicopters, Construction Helicopters, Evergreen Helicopters and Vertical de Aviacion as part of a multiple-award contract.
