U.S. Navy Expands V-22 Ice Protection
The Bell-Boeing Joint Project Office in Amarillo, Texas has obtained a $9.4-million extension of an existing contract related to the V-22 tiltrotor’s ice protection system. The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command purchase covers 51 de-ice distributor retrofit kits and 29 nacelle ice protection controller unit kits. Bell-Boeing will install the kits in Fort Worth, Texas, with a projected completion date of December 2014.
