Mi-28UB Combat Trainer Goes Airborne for First Time
The maiden flight of the Russian Helicopters Mi-28UB took place August 9 at the Rostvertol flight test center, which is also the production site for the Mi-28NE, Mi-26T and Mi-35M. The Mi-28UB is based off the Mi-28NE Night Hunter combat helicopter. It includes a dual control system that allows the helicopter to carry out pilot training in addition to serving in the attack role. Russian Helicopters plans to fly the Mi-28UB to Zhukovsky airfield near Moscow for its public debut at the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS 2013), which kicks off August 27 and runs through September 1.
