Heli-Expo Show Day: Aerosim Mission Trainers

AEROSIMULATORS FOCUSES ON DEVELOPING COST-EFFECTIVE HELICOPter simulators and related systems.

At Booth 50 in the static area, the company is displaying its Gimbal Imaging System Trainer (GIST), which simulates a variety of gimbal systems, such as FLIR Systems, Wescam, Denel, and others. Using this ground-based trainer costs about $3.50 an hour, far less than the cost of training a sensor-system operator in flight.

Also on display is Aerosimulators’ OCRA (Optical Crew Resource Analyzer). The OCRA system has the ability to track and record a student pilot’s eye movements, control inputs, and video within the cockpit. This lets the instructor know exactly what the trainee is looking at. Lastly, Aerosimulators’ Bell 206 FTD is on display at the show.
