Air Medical Conference Expects Record Attendance

By Ernie Stephens, Editor-at-Large

Monday, Oct. 22—the first day of the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC)—has revealed registration numbers that suggest record-breaking attendance for the annual, three-day gathering of the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS). An estimated 1,500 air medical professionals were on hand for the opening ceremonies at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, which included a keynote address from author and network television news aviation analyst John Nance. Additional pre-registered members are expected to arrive over the next two days.

“We should walk out of here Wednesday afternoon having had the largest AMTC ever,” reported Richard Sherlock, CEO of AAMS, who expects a total of 2,500 attendees.

AMTC includes lectures, hands-on training and skill-building exercises for airborne emergency medical care providers, and the people who pilot and manage the aircraft they use.
