Turbomeca Boost Moves to Test Phase
Turbomeca revealed plans at the Paris Air Show to conduct a test phase of its BOOST (bank of online service and technologies and services) program. Advanced Helicopters, CHC, Helicopters Italia, Helijet, Heli-Union and Milestone Aviation Group will participate in the trial run during the second half of 2013, including access to web-based technical publications (web-IETP), the electronic logbook, alerts and configuration modules. Turbomeca intends to launch Boost in 2014.
The engine maker has also renewed the status of Citic Offshore Helicopter Co. as a certified maintenance center for Turbomeca operators in China. Turbomeca has a total of 20 support personnel in China and plans to base a field rep in Shenzhen starting in September. The agreement builds off COHC’s initial entry into Turbomeca’s global support network in 2011. The operator’s all-Eurocopter fleet consists of 12 EC155s that receive power from Arriel 2C and 2C1s, eight AS332 Super Pumas (from Makila 1A1s), two EC225s (Makila 2As) and two AS350s (Arriel 2B1s).
