Eurocopter’s Norbert Ducrot, in addition to continuing his responsibilities as the Senior Vice President-North Asia (China, Korea, Japan), has been appointed the President and CEO of Eurocopter China. Ducrot has been with Eurocopter since 2003, and has many years of experience in the region. Eurocoper is seeking to increase its market share in China as well as strengthen its support and services provision. Previous companies include Dassault Electronique and Thomson-CSF in the U.S. as program director. In 1991, Ducrot became the director of marketing and Sales in Asia for Thomson TRT Defense. He then moved to the Lagardère Group, where he took charge of sales and marketing activities in Asia for Matra Defense and then the European MBDA missile company – a subsidiary of EADS.
The board of directors at Russian Helicopters has elected Vladimir Artyakov, deputy CEO of Rostec, as its new chairman. Speaking about Russian Helicopters, Artyakov said: “The company’s priorities for the next few years are to enter the global capital markets, and to increase our global market share up to 20 percent by strengthening our positions in the CIS, China, India, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, as well as other regions.”
Dmitry Lelikov, CEO of Oboronprom, was elected deputy chairman of the board of Russian Helicopters. Also elected to the company’s board were: Dmitry Petrov, CEO of Russian Helicopters; Alexander Mikheev, deputy CEO of Rosoboronexport; Pavel Osin, first deputy CEO of Oboronprom; Shiv Khemka, vice chairman of SUN Group; Jean-Paul Béchat, honorary president of GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association; Jean-Luc Picard, independent aerospace and defense consultant; Vladimir Litvin, head of Rostec’s Department of Corporate Procedures and Property.
Bell Helicopter has appointed Jason Johnson as director, sales and customer support. He will be responsible for Bell’s Customer Support and Services (CSS) sales and customer support activities worldwide. Johnson joins from Heli-One CHC, where he was vice president for customer support and contract administration. He has also worked at Safran in the Turbomeca engine and Sagem Avionics divisions.
Spectrum Aeromed has hired Rammie Olson for a newly created position of project coordinator. She will guide projects and serve as the primary liaison to customers. She will also coordinate the activities of all collaborators on an air medical equipment project from sales, design, and product development.
Spectrum Aeromed COO Chad Kost noted Olson’s background in managing projects, initiatives, and events as a former executive assistant at a major bank. Spectrum Aeromed’s former project manager Michael Gallagher has also been promoted to director of production while Boyd Johnson adds production responsibilities to his role as quality assurance manager. The company has also promoted Laurie Lundstrom to assistant office manager/AS9100 management representative.
Brent Bowen has been appointed Dean of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. He is known for creating the national Airline Quality Rating, produced annually for the past 23 years. Bowen academic background includes professor and chair of Aviation Science with Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology and comes to his present role from Purdue University, where he was Professor and Head of the Aviation Technology Department.
Tonya Salatino has joined Dallas Avionics as the Northeast United States and Canada outside sales representative, supporting 15 states in the region. Salatino previously worked for aviation placement company JSfirm as an advertising account manager.
