Portugal’s Omni Helicopters Inter- national (OHI) has hired Richard Burman as group CEO. OHI shareholders Stirling Square Capital Partners and Omni Netherlands supported the move. Burman comes from Bristow Group, where he was senior vice president of global operations, taking that role in 2010 after serving as Bristow’s senior vice president for the Eastern Hemisphere. Burman also previously worked at Baker Hughes as regional general manager for Africa and the Mediterranean.

Anthony Moreland is Bell Helicopter’s new managing director for North America, responsible for sales and marketing in the U.S. and Canada. Moreland comes from Sikorsky Aircraft, where he led the North American and Global Accounts group. A U.S. Army officer qualified on the Apache and Cobra, Moreland is returning to Bell, where he formerly worked in a number of roles, most recently as executive director of business development and marketing for Bell’s Commercial division.

American Eurocopter hired Mike Spears to serve as senior director of the UH-72A Lakota Production and Retrofit facility in Columbus, Miss. He will take over from Fred Gerard, senior director of LUH Production, who has accepted a job at Airbus in Mobile, Ala. Gerard has led Lakota production since the program began in 2006. Spears will lead helicopter repairs and modifications and work with U.S. Army and government operators. He previously worked as general manager at the Sikorsky Aircraft production facility in Troy, Ala. While at Sikorsky he oversaw a group of 800 people working on the U.S. Navy H-60 repairs/modifications program for in-country and foreign military sales (FMS) contracts.

Standard- Aero has promoted Keow Keong Low to Asia regional manager for helicopter programs. He will provide marketing and service support for Rolls-Royce M250 and RR300 operators in the Asia-Pacific region. Low’s responsibility will span from Russia to India to Japan, and to the south in Indonesia and the Philippines. He previously worked for StandardAero’s Airlines & Fleets division, where he was regional sales manager.

Camarillo, Calif.-based Merex has named Christopher Celtruda CEO, responsible for the Merex Group and the company’s recently acquired ALCO aircraft equipment overhaul and repair business in Livermore, Calif. He replaces former president & CEO Andy Shams, who will continue as chairman of the board. Celtruda was formerly managing principal at Destiny Equity Partners, with other previous experience at Gardner Denver, CIRCOR Aerospace, Honeywell International/AlliedSignal and General Dynamics. A Six Sigma black belt, Celtruda is a member of the Association of the U.S. Army, Air Force Association, Navy League and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).

Ralf Kannefass is the new head of programs for EADS division Cassidian. He also takes a role as a member of Cassidian’s Executive Committee. Kannefass was previously head of the Turbo Equipment unit within the Oil and Gas division of Siemens Energy.

Keith Ray and Mike Sela have joined the sales and support team at BLR Aerospace. Ray will have responsibility for sales in BLR’s commercial helicopter segment. He comes from Bell Helicopter subsidiary Aeronautical Accessories, where he was sales and marketing manager. Sela, who previously served as a CH-53 crew chief in the U.S. Marine Corps, joined BLR in 2010 in a technical support role installing FastFin and Winglet systems.

Spectrum Aero- med production manager Bob Daily has obtained Bronze Level of his SME Lean Certification, following four months of classes through training and testing organization Dakota MEP. Daily was also involved in Spectrum Aeromed’s recent AS9100 certification effort.
