System May Allow Helos to Plant Trees
C-Quester of Weybridge, Surry in the UK believes it has come up with a system that will allow helicopters to reseed devastated forest lands. The system consists of a mattress-size rack below the helicopter that contains 200 saplings encased in plastic cone-like devices. Once released, the cones fall to the earth and embed themselves into the ground. The chemicals and soil inside of the cone help promote the growth of the saplings into healthy trees. The inventors say this method of replanting will be faster and more cost-efficient hand-sowing.
