Senator Calls for U.S. Probe of Silver State

U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson wants the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the abrupt Feb. 3 shutdown of Silver State Helicopters, according to The Jacksonville (Fla.) Business Journal. The closure of Silver State’s schools in Florida left about 2,500 students there holding tuition loans of $70,000. The Florida Democrat said he also is considering asking for a U.S. Justice Dept. probe of the training company and its business practices. Nelson is a member of the Senate Commerce Committee.
