Bristow Goes Brazilian

The company will pay $174 million for a 42.5 percent stake in Lider Aviacao Holding, SA, which was founded as a taxi company more than 50 years ago and now includes helicopter operations and executive charters. Bristow hopes that its minority stake will give the company a stronger footing in the growing offshore oil business in South America. Lider operates 46 helicopters for the oil and gas industry, which represents approximately half the market in Brazil. For related news
