Bonds Boosts Training for Pilots, Mechanics

Bond Offshore Helicopters plans to invest £4 million ($7.9 million) to train the next generation of pilots and mechanics for its North Sea helicopter fleet, according to The Scotsman newspaper. That money should buy 12 pilots and 20 mechanics, according to the company. Bond is one of the largest North Sea offshore operators; it operates seven Eurocopter Super Puma AS332L Mk.2s and plans to add two Super Puma EC225s next year. Its sister company, Bond Air Services, based in Gloucestershire, is Britain's largest onshore helicopter operator, The Scotsman said, with 15 EC135T2s and nine Bo105s flying from 18 bases in support for police forces, ambulance services and lighthouses.
