Honeywell has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Intelligent Automation Corp (IAC), a leading supplier of helicopter on-board diagnostic systems for both military and commercial customers.
Pending regulatory review, Honeywell will take over Poway, Calif.-based IAC and place it under its aerospace operations.
IAC’s health and usage monitoring systems provide vital information and data for aircraft diagnostics and prognostics, and airworthiness and reliability.
IAC’s HUMS are deployed on more than 500 aircraft and selected on 1,000-plus. These include the U.S. Army Boeing AH-64 Apache, Sikorsky Aircraft H-60 Black Hawk, Boeing H-47 Chinook and Boeing H-6 Little Bird. IAC also provides services for the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s AH-64D. With this transaction, Honeywell significantly expands its existing HUMS service reach."
With the acquisition, "Honeywell builds on our existing HUMS services to reach new customers around the globe," said Ed Wheeler, President, Honeywell Defense and Space.
