AAMS Urges Use of Tech Systems to Reduce Crashes

In a release issued by the Association of Air Medical Services, the organization is urging that “proven technologies and systems” be adopted to help reduce the alarming number of fatal accidents suffered by helicopters engaged in emergency medical service operations. It comes in time to be presented at a February 3-6 public safety hearing called by the National Transportation Safety Board to specifically look into the matter. The AAMS, which represents medical personnel and pilots who serve aboard helicopters, will join with other aviation organizations invited by the NTSB to participate in the hearings.
