More than seven in 10 survey respondents say the air medical industry should engage in more crew resource management training, according to a training and management services vendor. ThinkThroughTools conducted the 10-question survey earlier this month to gather the views of air medical transport providers on air medical resource management (AMRM) training, a version of CRM that typically incorporates medical crewmembers as well as pilots in airborne decision-making. (Youngstown, Ohio-based ThinkThroughTools offers such training.) Nearly 72 percent of respondents said the industry is doing far too little AMRM training. Another 53 percent said their own program lacks a strict policy to include AMRM training as part of each shift briefing. The company said 117 people who work in air medical transport responded to the survey, and 72 percent of those have 10 or more years of experience. For related news
