Sikorsky Workers Accept Contract
The Teamster’s union that represents Sikorsky’s 5,100 employees at its plants in Connecticut and Florida, reports that its members have agreed to a 5-year contract with the helicopter company, a subsidiary of United Technologies. Employees had demanded a 3-year contract, but during their meeting on Sunday, Feb. 15, they settled for the longer term. Both sides are reportedly breathing easier since a contract dispute brought about a 6-week strike back in 2006. For further information
