Rotorcraft Report: Companies Receive Large Orders at Heli-Expo
Helicopter manufacturers will be busy in the coming year filling orders received at the Heli-Expo 2007.
Eurocopter received a total of 112 orders from providers of emergency medical, oil and gas exploration and tourism services, as well as private operators. In the oil and gas market, Eurocopter took 47 orders including 27 for the EC225, with 16 of those coming from CHC Helicopter Corp. and three firm orders from Bristow Group, with an option for eight more. EMS operators ordered 34. Omniflight Helicopters ordered 24 AS350B2s and Air Methods added 10 AS350B2s to a previous order of 10. Various private clients and operators in the tourist sector ordered 31, among them the EC120, AS350B2, EC130, and EC135.
AgustaWestland received orders for 46 helicopters, including 13 from Sloane Helicopters, seven from Aerolineas Ejecutivos, 10 from Synergy Aerospace, six from Fumigacio Aerea Andaluzza SA, two from the Los Angeles Fire Department, five from Kaan Havacilik, and one each from London Air Services, Peter Gilgan of Mattamy Corp. in Toronto, and Rotor-City Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario.
Enstrom Helicopters received orders for three 480B turbine rotorcraft.
MD Helicopters received orders for 20 helicopters — 12 single-engine and 8 twin-engine.
Robinson Helicopters declined to cite a number.
