COMPANY PROFILE: Eurocopter

With the newest technology and the widest array of aircraft to choose from, it is no wonder Eurocopter sells more helicopters than any company in the world. From the state-of-the-art EC120 through the EC145, the grand-sized workhorse EC225 to the awesome Tiger combat support helicopter and the new multi-role, full-composite, fly-by-wire transport and naval helicopter NH90, Eurocopter delivers a product to meet every operator’s mission and needs.

The Company

Eurocopter employs more than 13,000 people. Its strong worldwide presence is ensured by its 14 subsidiaries on five continents, along with a network of distributors and certified agents. This worldwide presence is also reinforced by more than 30 years of experience in international cooperation, developed with 35 countries. More than 13,000 Eurocopter helicopters have been delivered in 139 countries for approximately 2,500 customers. The group now accounts for 53 percent of new sales in the civil and parapublic world market.

A strong financial footing allows Eurocopter to continue to invest in new technology and new aircraft options. In the combined civil and commercial markets, 10 new models have been rolled out in the past 10 years and each year the company invests about 15 percent of revenue into research and development.

The Choices

From lightweight single-engine rotorcraft to multi-engine heavy-lifters, Eurocopter builds a complete and comprehensive family of products to choose from. In fact, multiple selections are offered in every class. Choices include single-engine models with a variety of engines and performance, to multiple light and medium twins serving commercial and military markets, to heavy-lift workhorses, troop transports and attack helicopters.

The Mission

Simply put, Eurocopter offers a helicopter to meet every operator’s mission and need. To that end, the company has established an unprecedented new approach to customer support. The new policies and facilities allow the company to quickly meet the requests and needs of a growing worldwide customer base.

The Success

In 2005, Eurocopter once again achieved the rank of the No. 1 helicopter manufacturer in the world, with orders for 401 new helicopters. In the same time period, Eurocopter’s turnover grew by 15 percent to 3.2 billion euros.

The Bottom Line

Eurocopter’s goal is to represent the future of helicopter technology and service. It has positioned itself to meet the needs of helicopter operators with more products, more options and more service than ever before.
