Captain Ken Speir Director, Line Operations

Captain Ken Speir currently serves as Director, Line Operations, at Delta Air Lines. He is responsible for the safety and efficiency of Delta line operations worldwide. Ken was promoted to Director of Line Operations in June 2010.
Previously he served as Chief Pilot, Fleet Technical Pilot, Flight Instructor, and Special Assignments Supervisor in Delta’s Flight Operations Division. Captain Speir was the Atlanta Hartsfield International RNAV program manager and has chaired numerous industry initiatives on CPDLC, ADS-B, PARC, CNS Task Force, and RNAV/RNP. Most recently Ken co-chaired the RTCA Task Force 5 Metroplex committee.
Ken was the 2007 aviation community recipient of the RTCA Achievement Award and achieved the highest corporate honor at Delta in 2003 being selected as a Delta Chairman’s Club award winner. Ken has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from LSU and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University. Captain Speir served eight years in the U.S. Air Force flying F-15’s in Europe. Ken currently resides in Newnan, Ga. and is married with three children.
