Dave Nakamura
Chief Engineer - Aviation Infrastructure

Dave is the Chief Engineer for Boeing Commercial Airplane Services Aviation Infrastructure unit and is also a Senior Technical Fellow for Boeing Airplane Systems. He has been with Boeing for 32 years.

Dave’s background includes being a Project and Systems Lead Engineer in electronic display systems, and a lead engineer and manager for flight management systems (FMS) on the 757, 767 and 747-400 aircraft. He was also both an FAA Systems and Software Designated Engineering Representative for FMS programs.

Dave is currently in the Boeing Airplane Systems unit, where he acts as an Enterprise specialist on CNS and ATM technology and applications. As Chief Engineer in Aviation Infrastructure, he is directing the development of CNS/ATM Roadmaps, Strategy and Implementation Plans. He is known in industry for his knowledge, technical leadership and contributions in the evolution and implementation of Required Navigation Performance, and the advancement of new concepts for Performance Based Airspace Operations.

Dave’s leadership and role in the aviation community is very diverse, including being a co-chair of RTCA Trajectory Operations Work Group, chairman of the FAA Performance based operations Aviation Rulemaking Committee, chairman of the ICAO PBN Study Group, ICCAIA member to the ICAO Instrument Flight Procedures Panel, and advising in many others.
