Mr. Mettus has been Lockheed Martin Certified Architect since 1997 and has over 33 years of systems development experience. He holds a M.S. in Engineering from GeorgeWashingtonUniversity and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from CarnegieMellonUniversity.
Mr. Mettus has had MajorAreaControlCenter system architecture responsibility as the Chief Architect for domestic and international programs. He was also the System Integrity Architect for the Lockheed Martin GPS III team during the System Architecture and Requirements Definition phase of the program. He gained substantial experience with NextGen Concepts through participation in the NextGen Institute Air Navigation Service Working Group.
For the past three years Mr. Mettus has been the Chairman of RTCA Special Committee 214, Advanced Data Communication Standards. Prior to that he was the chairman of the Civil Aviation Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) Technology Evolution Working Group.
