Bob is president of R.W. Mann & Company, Inc., an independent advisory firm. Since 1993, he has conducted more than ninety assignments for airlines, airframe manufacturers, aviation industry investors and employee groups, on five continents, in the areas of airline electronic distribution, business process improvement, restructuring, airline economics and interest arbitration matters.
Bob also consults on airline economics, electronic distribution, implementation/risk management, airline-oriented revenue/cost optimization Intellectual Property, and speaks on and has authored numerous articles on a wide range of topical issues ranging from loyalty/customer value management to fuel hedging to fleet planning to scheduling and ATC improvements.
For fifteen years, prior to 1993, at American Airlines, Pan Am and TWA, Bob served as a corporate officer responsible for industry analysis, marketing, planning, systems and service delivery functions. From 1983 until its sale in 2004 to Amadeus LP, he was an Outside Director of Airline Automation, Inc., now Amadeus Revenue Integrity.
Bob has the 'hands-on' distinction of having developed, implemented, managed and restructured marketing, planning, service, and distribution processes and systems for his airline employers and consulting clients.
Bob holds a Private Pilot certificate, served as a Research Assistant at MIT's Flight Transportation Laboratory and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from MIT, in Aeronautical Engineering and Transportation/Management.
