Texas DPS Receives Agency's First EC145

The Texas Dept. of Public Safety has taken delivery of its first EC145 helicopter. The twin-engine aircraft, equipped with a variety of airborne law enforcement gear installed by Metro Aviation, will join the agency’s current fleet of 13 AS350s. In a press release issued by the manufacturer, Eurocopter president and CEO Marc Paganini said, “Our relationship with the department spans over 20 years and this EC145 will usher in a new era and will allow them to expand their level of service throughout the state.” The DPS will put their new, more powerful helicopter to use flying search and rescue missions, fire suppression and tactical operations.
