Program Insider: Program Updates

  • AttackBoeing has delivered 23 Apache Longbow Crew Trainers to the U.S. Army and Dutch air force and is under contract for five more for U.S. and international customers.

  • Observation — U.S. Customs and Border Protection has ordered eight more Eurocopter AS350B3s.

  • Reconnaissance — EFW Inc. will supply the Data Transfer System for the U.S. Army/Bell Helicopter ARH-70A Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter.

  • Search and Rescue — Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa, called for the U.S. Government Accountability Office to review the new round of protests by Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky Aircraft against the U.S. Air Force in the Combat SAR-X contest.

  • Search and Rescue — Norway is relaunching its competition for 10-12 SAR helicopters. Delivery would take place between 2011 and 2014.

  • Search and Rescue — Bahrain is seeking new SAR aircraft. Bell Helicopter’s 412 is being considered.

  • Transport — Flight restrictions on V-22s have been lifted following the grounding of U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force tilt-rotors due to internal seal failures.

  • Transport — The U.S. Army has authorized full-rate production and fielding of the Boeing CH-47F.
