MD Talks, But Isn’t Selling
MD Helicopters has talked to both Sikorsky Aircraft and AgustaWestland about a sale and other possible relationships, but don’t expect the Mesa, Ariz.-based manufacturer to change hands any time soon. MD Chairman Lynn Tilton, who bought control of the company in mid-2005 and has put millions into it since then, said Sikorsky and AgustaWestland each initiated the talks and she had a fiduciary obligation to listen. Eurocopter parent EADS also entered talks with MD. “I would put my money on the fact that MD will walk its path alone,” she told Rotor & Wing.
