Bell Chief is Replaced

Textron Inc., parent company of Bell helicopter, has replaced Bell's chairman, Michael Redenbaugh. Richard Millman has been named new president and chief executive officer of Bell. A letter sent from Textron to Bell employees indicated dissatisfaction that Bell was having problems meeting commitments to customers on time and on budget. Bell is building the V-22 Osprey for the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force but has come under close scrutiny from cost overruns and questions about the reliability of the aircraft.
