01 Nov. 2245Z Toronto Ontario CL600-2B19(RJ) of Air Canada ACA508 decl emerg for hydraulic system fluctuating 0 to 2400psi. Nil #2 engine driven hydraulic pump changed on C-FWJS.
01 Nov 2030Z Vancouver BC BAe146-200 of JazzAir JZA8504 Shut down an engine shortly after departing Vancouver and returned. Nil No fuel-dump capability (flew 30 mins to dump gas before landing @ 2100Z)
01 Nov. Regina Saskatchewan BAe146-200 of Mesaba Enrt Regina-Minneapolis (117nm SE) called for return due fumes in cockpit. Nil / 66 o/b AC oil contamination. MES3420 took off 1338Z and landed back at 1403Z.
04 Nov Ottawa Ontario DHC-8-102 of JazzAir JZA8946 A/c aborted at 100kts when elevator wouldn't move (due ice in elev hinges). Nil C-GONJ de-iced on ground but spent 2 hrs in freezing drizzle prior to t/off.
04 Nov. Vancouver BC 747-400 of China Airlines CAL031 Aborted after multiple birdstrikes during departure roll on 26L. Nil #3 eng blown (4 blades, 6 guide-vanes), 2 sets brakes seized, 2 tires flat.
05 Nov. 1045L Naha, Japan 747 of JAL Flt: 933 JAL crew rec'd TCAS alert at 1500ft- spotted military a/c in close proximity. Nil Suspected to have been USN patrol plane on nocomms covert ops.
06 Nov 2230L Florianopolis Br A320 of TAM Brazil PT-MZL Departed runway side and stopped on grass with collapsed nosewheel. Nil / 122 pax / 6 crew Also damage to both engine nacelles.
06 Nov. 2238Z Vancouver BC bound Calgary A330-343 of Air Canada C-GHKX Pilot returned 26L after engine "smoke" observed on t/off & a fuel qty loss of >3,000 lb after t/off noted. Nil / 92 pax 3700kg fuel loss. Reportedly a #2 eng LP fuel line break/separation after a repair the day before. Towed in.
07 Nov. Tenerife (TFS) 757 of air2000 Returned Rena Sofia A/P shortly after take-off with rear galley smoke emerg. Nil Jetset 287 recovered long way round to runway 08.
07 Nov. 2145L Sao Paolo Int'l, Brazil 767-300 of American Taxied off the taxiway enroute to gate H00, left main gear got bogged and a/c stopped just short of a deep ditch. Nil Raining heavily.
07 Nov. Rothera, Antarctic Twin Otter of Brit Ant Survey A/c inverted on landing in strong gusty winds and was seriously damaged. Nil Reg'd in Falklands. British Antarctic Survey retains 3 other Twin Otters.
08 Nov. 1430L Haneda A/P Japan 767 of Skymark Fukuoka bound a/c at FL230 had a noisy compressor surge & returned. Nil / 216 o/b Left engine noisy protest and engine instruments dictated a prudent return.
10 Nov. Nashville, Tennessee Falcon200 N500RR Hit wingtip of parked Lear 31A N64NB while taxiing. Nil Wingtips of both a/c damaged.
10 Nov. 1835L Denver, Colo. Raytheon 1900D Great Lakes Avn. N254GL struck another company 1900D (N211GL parked) while taxiing. Nil wingtips of both a/c damaged.
10 Nov. 0218L Sacramento, Calif. C208 Caravan of FedEx N972FE struck 3 geese at 5 miles on final approach 1 inj (minor) Freighter operating as PAC Valley 7650.
10 Nov. Oslo, Norway A320 of BA Flight: 761 Two pilots and head of cabin crew arrested by Norwegian Police after failing breathalyzer testing. Nil / 55 pax Norwegian blood-test limit is 20 mgs/100mls (same as their .02 driving limit). 5th BA incident in 6 years.
10 Nov. 0420L Mumbai, India Two undisclosed "foreign airliners" ATCO at Mumbai Airport relieved of duty after two "foreign a/c" involved in a close airmiss 300nms fm Mumbai. Nil One a/c Male-Dubai, other Nairobi to Mumbai were assigned (and achieved) conflicting altitudes.
11 Nov. 1340L Wheeling, Illinois Citation 560 of WestCoast Charter N789CN overran on take-off runway 34 into the grassed stopway by 150 ft. Nil / 5 o/b Pilot experienced control problems and rejected t/off. Serious damage.
11 Nov. 1540L Grand Forks, N.D. RJ-85 of Mesaba Flt: 3533 Emerg declared for a no-flap landing on 7350ft long runway at GFK. Nil / 67pax & 4crew Fixed by CB reset .A/c originated in Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St Paul Int'l).
11 Nov. 2113L Las Vegas Int'l., Nev. 747 of BA Flt: BA268 A/c ex LAX landed LAS (McCarran Intl A/P) with smoke in cockpit. Nil / 251 pax & 15 crew Later also diverted into JFK (while enroute to Heathrow).
11 Nov. 0643L Belleville, Illinois Lear 24 of Multi-Aero Inc A/c crashed/burnt in field 4nm SE of airport (flock birdstrike on rotate). 4 inj / 4 (3 minor) Plt serious (rt eng strk during St Louis Downtown-North Platte Nebraska flt).
11 Nov. 0800L Texarkana Regnl Gulfstream GIV of Toyota Declared a cabin smoke emergency at 40,000ft and diverted Texarkana A/P. Nil Enrt Cincinnati (floor panel found singed by arced wiring beneath it).
12 Nov. Charlotte, N.C. 757 of Delta A/c carried out unsked landing at Douglas Intl A/P with hyd leak. Nil / 128 o/b Atlanta-Baltimore flight towed to gate.
12 Nov. 1220L Albury NSW Aust B200 Super Kingair VH-ITA Landed after smoke filled the aircraft (aircon pack fan-motor seizure). Nil / 6 o/b Ex Canberra - visit by Vietnam Air Authority Civil Aviation staff.
