16 Aug. 1633L Guadalajara Mx 727 freighter of DHL Awys FAR PT121 had a tail-strike on landing Guadalajara in fine weather. Nil Minor damage to N750DH in nil wind (flt deptd Monterrey Airport Mexico).
14 Sept. 1438Z Halifax NS 767-209 of Air Canada ACA610 went around due slat disagree problem and rqstd vectors 10ml final. Nil Proximity Sensor Electronic Unit (PSEU) tolerance unable to be faulted.
16 Sept. 1430L Soto La Marina Mx Aero Commander 690 N302WB Crashed into trees on t/off after previous incident damage repaired. 1 fatal Reg. to QEAT-4 LLC of Naples Fla. and operated by MGS Corp of Laredo, Texas.
18 Sept. Inuvik NW Territories DHC-7 of Transport Canada C-GCFR After snow removal it was discovered that approx 800lbs of 77% calcium chloride had been used in lieu of urea. Nil Chemical is very corrosive and DHC-7 was one of 13 a/c affected by operating there at the time of contam.
20 Sept. Phoenix Sky Harbor MD-88 of AeroMexico N162PL struck and damaged by taxiway sweeper during taxi for t/off. Nil AMX451 to Guadalajara cancelled (extent of a/c damage unknown).
20 Sept. 2330L Driggs, Idaho C421B Reg: N41053 Aircraft crashed while taxiing at Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport. Nil / 2 o/b Subst damage (pays to get it in early if you feel it's not going to be your day).
20 Sept. 0340L Winchester, Va. SwearingenSA22 of Dominion Avn N193CS hit a deer with its right prop on landing runway 22. Nil / 3 o/b Substantial damage to air ambulance aircraft on mercy mission.
21 Sept. 2200L Phoenix, Ariz. CRJ-200LR of America West N4554V pushed back into tail of other parked American West Express a/c. Nil CRJ N4554V received sliced rudder and CRJ-200 N17358 had tail damage.
23 Sep 2125L New York JFK 727 of European Air Charter Ltd EAF001 struck parked truck with left wingtip during taxi to East-side ramp. Nil Reg: HC-BZR. Damage unknown.
23 Sept. 2130L Medford, Oregon Citation C550 Reg: N543SC Struck a flock of birds on climb-out and returned for inspection. Nil Minor airframe dings.
25 Sept. 1000L Anchorage Alaska for New York A340 of China Airlines Flt capt grounded by FAA after TSA screener smelled alcohol & found an open alcohol container (retd to Taipei). Nil .087 recorded. Airline claims pilot was "not drunk" by Taiwan standards and blood alcohol calculation methods.
25 Sept. 1326L Palm Beach, Fla. HU-16 Albatross of Corsair Avn A/c crashed into trees & rescue attempt thwarted by huge bee-swarm. 1 fatal 2 ser inj Amphibian a/c deptd St Lucie County Intl A/P - pilot blamed engine failure.
25 Sept. 0650L Dallas, Texas MD80 of American N462AA deployed slides and tailcone exit at gate 17 Terminal C & evac'd. 5 minor injuries Flt:1128 canx due to smoke in cockpit (cause unknown).
25 Sept. 1353L Manchester NH 757 of UAL Flt: UAL455 UAL455 requested to move fwd by C172 behind - and C172 was damaged. Nil Minor damage to N5683R at Hotel/Lima taxiway intxn by jet blast.
25 Sept. am hrs Manchester UK BAe146 of CitiExpress Reptd hydfail & loss of nosewheel steering on appch. Towed to ramp Nil Belfast-Manchester flt (fault was high oil temp in #2 hyd system).
26 Sept. Dyess AFB Abilene B-1B of Dyess AFB Lost 1000gals fuel during fast emerg recovery after birdstrike over W Texas Nil Operational hazard at the lower levels (crew also reptd smoke in cockpit).
26 Sept. Windsor-Locks Bradley Intl 757-232 of SONG N6701 struck jetway B17 causing significant damage after towbar broke. Nil A/c damage minor (incident occurred at 0340L).
27 Sept. 1515L LaGuardia NY Emb145 of American Eagle N733KR was pushed back into a garbage truck while leaving the ramp Nil / 27 o/b Extent of damage unknown.
29 Sept. am hrs Meenambakkam Chennai India 777-300 of Emirates flt: EK404 A/c made emerg ldg with a hold fire. Unconfirmed rept that 3 diplomatic pouch leather bags reduced to ash. Nil / 309 pax & 18 crew Dubai-Singap flt exp a warning which extinguished & later recurred. Fire rekindled on ramp after door opening.
30 Sept. 0700L Redmond Oregon Dash 8 of Horizon N357PH Returned Roberts Field 16 mins after t/off for Seattle - with an engine surge. Nil / 37pax Repeat of similar problem on 16th & 18th. A/c grounded for investigation
30 Sept. 2100L Seattle, Wash. DHC8-400 of Horizon N409QZ Stairs became lodged under left wing as they were being removed for flight. Nil / 62 o/b Wing substantially damaged. by removal attempt. Flight cancelled.
01 Oct. 0730L Canberra ACT Australia 737 BBJ of RAAF VIP Fleet Prime Minister's new VIP a/c severely damaged during tow ex VIP hangar by QANTAS contractor. PM has 1 jet left. Nil Fin & rudder may require replacement (hit an unopened upper-level door). See related page one story.

01 Oct. 2055L Boston, Mass. 737-700 of Air Tran ATA158 Belt loader struck #1 cargo-door of N313T2 while a/c parked at gate 37. Nil Flight cancelled (minor damage to door and antennae).
01 Oct. 0450L Dubai UAE 767 of Ethiopian Airlines RH MLG caught fire on taxi-in due to leaking hyd fluid (quickly ext by RFF). 7 inj / 229 o/b On arrival from Addis Ababa.
02 Oct. 0929L JFK A/P NY 737-300 of Delta Flt: 1744 Enrt LaGuardia, a/c diverted JFK with a hydraulic failure. Nil Landed JFK 0955L - no further info. (Required longer runway at JFK)
02 Oct. 1220L Chicago O'Hare 727 of US Dept of Justice Marshal's Service Two tires on left MLG of DOJ41 blew on landing r/way 22R (inbound from Detroit) and wheels failed/caught fire. Nil / >100 prisoners Seat-shackled prisoners evac'd via rear ramp (still cuffed). Rt MLG damaged also.
