16 Aug. Tanzania LET 410 of ZANAIR Observed to be off the side of runway 23 at midfield and somewhat damaged Unk Hydraulic fail. 28 LET 410 hull losses since 2000 (14 in Africa; 5/14 in 2004)
16 Aug. 1130L Rhode Island 737 of SWA SWA flight landed T.F. Green Airport in Warwick R.I. with a blown tire. Nil/75 pax ex Orlando, Fla. (and blew the tire departing its stop-over in Philadelphia)

20 Aug. Almaty Kazakhstan IL62 (being dismantled) Fuel vapors in tank ignited and a/c blew up while being piece-mealed 1 fatal / 2 inj Took fire-crews over an hour to extinguish the fire at Almaty Airport
20 Aug. Valgorge, France (Ardeche Region ) S2 Grumman Tracker Fire-bomber Second 50 y.o. Grumman Tracker crash resulted from an engine failure during a spraying run on a forest fire 2 fatal / 2 o/b 2nd French Tracker crash in a month. CL415 also killed its two pilots on 01 Aug on the French Island of Corsica
