07 Jul Lakeview Ore. C402B of Ameriflight N98635 gear collapsed on taxi-out for take-off. Nil LH MLG collapsed during taxi from ramp to runway 16.
14 Jul 1842Z Thunder Bay Ontario CL600 of JAZZ Air REG: C-GKFR JZA8044's prev rept'd return to Thunder Bay for a smoke event was related to lavatory line-heaters (CBs had tripped on the prior flight - so this crew pulled the CBs).. Nil A/c landed 1901Z. Fix was to replace CBs. In view of smoke aural alarm and lav smk indication, it might have made more sense to replace the line- heaters(wrt previous tape-heater fires aboard two AC 767's).
16 Jul Launch ex Svalbard Norway Unmanned scientific balloon fm Andoya Rocket Range Payload-carrying balloon has drifted into Canadian controlled airspace and been declared "rogue" by owner. Nil Balloon expected to remain aloft 29K to 36K ft for weeks - and battery for transponder package was at day 8 of a 20 day life as of this date.
16 Jul Nassau Bahamas A330-600 (a/c 084) of American Airlines FL 330 crew observed floor buckle at row 12 & 25 fm wall to wall. Carpet lifted 1.5" to 2" fm row 11 to 25 in both aisles and buckle seen in rug. Nil A/c diverted Nassau from Miami - upon landing all buckling disappears.
17 Jul Atlanta-Huntsville CRJ of Comair Flt: 5491 F/a arrested for setting 8 May inflight restroom fire. Nil Also charged with making a bomb threat against AirTran.
17 Jul 1815L Shannon Eire ATR42 of Aer Arann Emerg ldg Shannon after an engine failed. Nil/31pax& 3crew Dublin-Sligo. Caused by oil overheat indication.
18 Jul Mumbai India A320 of Indian Airlines Flt: IC688 DGCA investigating overweight a/c after tire tread shed on t/off, emerg landing. Nil Overloading by >1000kg suspected.(a 737 crashed at Aurangabad 26 April 93 due to overloading - killing 56).
18 Jul 0130Z Gander Newfdld JFK-Heathrow flt 777-200 of American Reg: N789AN AAL100 decl emerg due smk in cabin when 190nm NE of Gander. Pilot warned pax getting sick and a/c might need emerg evac upon landing. Nil (Landed 0215Z). O'heating LH recirc fan, but breaker hadn't tripped. Tripped on ground when power was reapplied.

20 Jul enrt Cooma (night) Metro 23 of Horizon Awys Total Electrical Failure (no STBY pwr) and diverted to Canberra in fine conditions. Nil Lightning strike (two 24Vdc batts provide services in event of dual gen failure). Not an isolated event.

20 Jul 1800L Nairobi Metro III of Ryan Blake Air A/c crashed into 17,157 ft Mt Kenya at sunset during tourist flight to Masai Mara reserve. 14 dead/14 on board Conditions cloudy at 16,450 ft above sea level.

21 Jul Bahrain 767-300 of Gulf Air Flt departure delayed >50 mins when captain broke leg while boarding. 1/240 pax & 8 crew Due to security procedures ambulances are unable to enter A/P.

23 Jul 1340L Aberdeen UK Super Puma of Scotia Helicopters A/c carrying 13 oil workers lost engine & divtd Aberdeen. Nil/15 on board A/c enroute to Lomond Oil Platform 230 kms off Scottish coast.
23 Jul 1245L Denver Colo. Beech 1900D Reg: N100UX Flt GLA5152 engaged wingtips with another parked Lakes a/c. Nil Minor damage to both wingtips in ramp event.
23 Jul 1900L Lihue Hawaii Bell206B of Jack Harter Helos N37741 crashed in crater of Waialeali Volcano on Kauai 5 fatal/5 on board Tourist sight-seeing flight.
