11 Jun Toronto Ontario 767-233 of Air Canada Flt: ACA842 Taxiing for departure when a strong electrical burning smell was detected. A "No Land 3" annunciator was displayed and the F/O's localizer and glide slope flags displayed. Nil Maintenance reported that the right ILS circuit breaker popped, was reset, and popped again.
14 Jun Amsterdam -Luxembourg 747-200 of MK Airlines Descending thru FL150 enroute short sector AMS-LUX when it hit a hailstorm. Hailstones the size of golf balls. Nil Nose cone completely stove in, windshield cracked on both sides. Hail can be encountered in clear air and may not show on radar.
20 Jun Toronto Ontario A320-211 of Air Canada Reg: C-FTJQ #2 flight management guidance computer (FMGC) froze, #1 FMGC degraded, and both multi-purpose control and display units froze. Nil Manufacturer is working on a modification to resolve these failures. Flt continued from Ottawa to Toronto.
25 Jun Rudshour Iran C130 of Iranian AirForce Crashed in built-up area due to a technical failure. 7 fatal / 7 on board No further details.
26 Jun 1807L Gamsberg Mtns Cessna Caravan of SOS Crashed in mountains on medevac flight. 4 fatal / 4 on board Crash site 170km from Windhoek Namibia.
27 Jun 0521Z Edmonton Alberta 737-217 of ZipAir Reg: C-GCPS WZP6259 declared smoke in cockpit and re-landed. Nil / 101 on board Maintenance found birdstrike in #1 eng. Smell entered via aircon.
28 Jun Detroit Mich. CRJ of Pinnacle Air Flt 5877 Smoke discovered after cargo fire alert & a/c evacuated. Nil / 34 on board Smoke discovered to be residual auto-actuated fire extinguisher haze.
29 Jun Madrid-Santiago Chile A340-300 of Iberia 3 pax in coma from carbon monoxide poisoning enroute. 3 inj / 240 pax 38% level of CO found in pax blood by Indisa Clinic (suspicious claims).
29 Jun 0110Z Schiphol-JFK 747-233B of Kittyhawk Intl Reptd losing #2 eng, desc FL280 -cont'd JFK Nil Reg: N714CK Flt: CKS-206
30 Jun 2030Z Toronto Ontario A340-343 of AF AFR358 reptd eng fail on 5nms final r/way 23 and landed. Nil Rec'd false warning on #1 engine (CFM 56-5C4) thrust reverser, declared an emerg, reduced #1 to idle, and locked out the #1 reverser.
30 Jun Boufarik mil A/P C130 of Algerian AF A/c crashed in residential area 30km S of Algiers. Unknown >17 dead Moroccan Radio reports "numerous" casualties. Test flight sortie.
30 Jun Birmingham New 757-28A of Air2000 A/c Bravo Delta removed from service due to fuselage damage. Nil Belt loader applied skin damage at hold 4.
30 Jun Woodford UK BAe146 of Air Berlin Large unexplained fatigue crack discovered (upper fuselage near main door). Nil A/c ferried Cologne for investigation. A/c belongs to WDL Group.
02 Jul 0510L Singapore-Sydney 747-438 of QANTAS VH-OJU Flt: QF6 Eng advised smoke from brakes and capt ordered evac -pax injured when slide 3R deflated. High heels puncture suspected. 5 inj incl F/O A/c landed 34L with approx 15kt t/wind during post-curfew hour with idle reverse (any greater requiring paperwork submission). Carbon brake fire due to excess grease.
02 Jul 0340L Darwin NT 777-200 of SIA Singapore-Bris a/c diverted to discharge unruly 41yo male. Nil SIA suing pax for $25K cost of unsked landing and delays.
02 Jul 0140Z Halifax NS A340-313 of AF Flt: ARF359 Declared PAN 121nms NE of Sydney and landed Halifax. Nil F-GLZM enrt Toronto-Paris (#2 door floor heater thermostat shorted).
04 Jul Sydney NSW C130 of RAAF Enrt Richmond-Darwin a/c diverted Sydney with massive fuel leak. Nil Landed 16R vacating onto 07 and evac'd. Large pool of fuel seen to form beneath a/c.
06 Jul 1730Z 767-333 of Air Canada Declared an elec problem (smoke) and landed back. Nil Flt: ACA101 Toronto-Vancouver
07 Jul 2255L Curitiba Brazil DC-10 of Cielo CIU 4855 OB1749 A/c overran 2200m r/way in poor weather/heavy precipitn Nil / 4 Cargo flt R/way 15 localizer antenna damaged, nose-gear collapse, one eng damagd.
08 Jul 0400L Port Sudan - Khartoum 737-200 of Sudan Awys Reg: ST-AFK Flt: SD139 Crashed shortly after take-off from Red Sea airport after reporting an eng failure. One 2yo child survived. 115 fatal / 116 on board Airline refuted foreign minister statement that a/c had not been serviced for 5 years due to US trade embargo on parts.
