18 May Frankfurt, Germany 747-400 of Air India Flt: 137 T/off tailstrike undetected till next flt. A/c held at LA for 10 days for repairs Nil Reg: VT-ESO on Mumbai-Frankfurt-Los Angeles flt. Pilots grounded.
29 May Indian & Great Southern Oceans 747-400 of Qantas QF63 incommunicado after departure until eventually latterly in comms with South African Oceanic Nil Sydney to Johannesburg flt lost all comms (HF, satellite, other traffic). Suspected sunspot activity.
01 June Okinawa, Japan A330 of Garuda 10 injured when a/c hit turbulence on long finals to land Okinawa 10 inj / 161+14 Arriving from Bali Indonesia. Injured incl 5 crew.

03 June Halifax NS A340-600 of Virgin Atlantic Flt45 divtd due inadvertent activation of its non-cancellable hijack alarm Nil / 271 pax +16 Heathrow to JFK N.Y. CF18 Hornet fighters intercepted inbound flight.
04 June 1255L Chicago O'Hare 747-400 of United UA881 blew a tire on take-off at 1255L and returned to land 1445L Nil / 308 pax +19 Bound Tokyo (Narita).

04 June Manchester UK 777 of PIA Undercarriage caught fire after landing & pax evacuated via chutes Nil / 220 pax +12 Another in a long series of similar PIA braking/gear events over the past year.
05 June evening New Delhi, India A320 of Kingfisher Spice Jet tug towing a ladder toppled it onto the "week old" new Kingfisher jet Nil Kingfisher police complaint dropped after chat between the 2 airline CEO's.

06 June Eastman River, Canada C130 of CAF CFB Trenton 92 isolated people threatened by a wildfire emerg evac'd fm gravel strip Nil Evacuees retrieved despite thick smoke & poor weather -- on 2nd attempt.
