18 Feb 1700L Indianapolis, Ind. Cessna 421C Reg N98507 A/c belly-landed with nose gear down after main-gear extension failure. Nil / 2 o/b Arriving from Salt Lake City.
20 Feb morning Farmington, N.M. CRJ200 of AmericaWest Exp Canadair aircraft diverted in with engine shut down during cruise flight. Nil HP6531 Colorado Springs, Colo., to Las Vegas.
20 Feb ~0700L Newark Intl, N.J. 737-700 & 737-800 of Continental Taxiing CO589 struck tail of CO1002; both were under way. Nil / 108 +148 pax o/b CO589 bound Miami & CO1002 for LAX. Both aircraft had minor damage.
20 Feb 2115L Bermuda Int'l 757 of American Flt AA284 Aircraft diverted into Bermuda following loss of power on #1 engine. Nil / 162 pax o/b St. Maarten to New York (JFK) flight.
21 Feb pm, Sao Paulo-Guarulhos Int'l, Brazil A340-312 of TAP (Portugal) Reg CS-TOD Crew suspended after landing on taxiway B alongside terminal with UA9829 [767] on taxiway. Nil Aiming for 27R, not runway 27L. Threshold is displaced well to west. Late afternoon sun glare caused error.
21 Feb 0844UTC Zurich, Switz. 767 of Belair Reg: HB-ISE Forced cat 3 autoland due to fuel shortage, despite ILS being cat 1. Nil / 235 pax +9 crew ILS downgrade caused by lost airport power. BHP902 arr fm Cancun, Mex.
21 Feb 2020L Brussels, Belgium 737-7Q8 of Malev MA-603 HA-LOS substantially damaged by push-back tug at position 205. Nil / 106 pax Flt cancelled 2 hrs, 40 min later.
21 Feb Dusseldorf, Germ. A330-200 of LTU A/c diverted after drunken 45 yr old male pax triggered full-scale brawl. 1 cuffed / 212 pax Bangkok-bound from Munich, Germ. Man arrested by German police.
22 Feb Papeete,Tahiti A340-300 of Air Tahiti. FltTN088 A/c returned Papeete Int'l 2 hours after t/off with gear failure to retract. Nil Gear-pins? Headed Osaka via Tokyo (Narita a/p). Some repts cite flap probs.
22 Feb Fort Myers, Fla. A320 of Jet Blue Switch from ground power to aircraft electrics caused loud bang & smoke. Nil Boston-bound pax were de-planed at SW Florida Int'l a/p's D Concourse.
22 Feb 1920L Bristol Int'l, UK Jetstream 41 of Eastern Airways Landed back after toilet smoke alert, plus smell of smoke in cabin. Nil / 21 pax +3 crew Bristol-Aberdeen UK flight ret'd a few minutes after takeoff. Electrical short.
22 Feb Santiago de Compostela, Spain A320 of Iberia Flt IB581 Crew made urgent diversion to Santiago after takeoff upon noticing very high temps in brake packs. Nil / 131 pax and crew From Vigo (Sp) to Madrid. On landing, multiple tires deflated via thermal relief due to excessive braking heat.
23 Feb evening Budapest, Hungary 767 of "a Spanish carrier" After takeoff, emerg. slide detached mid-air & fell inflated to the ground. Nil / 0 pax Slide found in runway overrun area.
23 Feb noon Birmingham, UK A310-304 of Mahan Air ATC observed a/c extremely low at 6 mls on final appch & sent it around. Nil F-OJHI impounded at Birmingham Int'l by UKCAA investigators.
24 Feb 0110L Chennai, India 767-300 of Delta Flt DL016 Aircraft made safe emerg. landing Chennai after split flap on approach. Nil / 180 o/b Paris to Chennai. Some sources cite flap failure. Amounts to same thing.
24 Feb Southampton, UK Dash 8 Q400 of Flybe Aircraft was hit hard by a de-icing van while carrying a full load of pax. Nil A real problem moving the grounded a/c to a venue for Bombardier's repair.
25 Feb 0855L Naha, Okinawa 737-500 of Air Nippon. Flt 117 Aircraft dvtd to Naha after losing hydr pressure in cruise at FL350. Nil Bound Ishigaki Island in SW Okinawa Prefecture from Haneda a/p, Tokyo.
25 Feb day Samsun Carsamba, Turkey MD83 of Turkish Airlines Aircraft almost landed in error at Black Sea closed airport of Samsun Engiz. Nil Aircraft leased from World Focus. Leased aircrews unfamiliar with destination?
25 Feb 1230L Naha, Okinawa 747 of NWA Flt NWA2 LAX to Hong Kong via Tokyo flight divtd after smoke filled cabin. Nil / 351 pax +15 o/b Oil-seal failure on #2 eng ducted heavy smoke into cabin air con system.
25 Feb day Madrid, Spain A330-200 of Air Madrid Ingested pneumatic hose into #1 eng while taxiing in to finger at T1 Nil Pilots shut down on experiencing very strong vibrations due to Iberia's hose.
25 Feb Cardiff Wales, UK Citation X Canada reg A/c embedded in structure opposite BAMC hangar by very strong winds. Nil Aircraft's right wing a mess and right side of fuselage severely damaged.
26 Feb 1601L Mbuji-Mayi, DRC AN12 of Wimbi Dira Airways Eng fire #4 on appch, prop didn't feather and a/c crashed on airfield. Nil / 6 o/b Write-off (burnt out). Arriving fm Bipemba DRC.
26 Feb San Juan, C.R. 757-224 of Continental Flt CO1484 ingested bird on final approach but landed safely. Nil Major engine damage to N17122

27 Feb 0629L Kuching, Malaysia 727-200F of DHL Skidded off 2454m long, wet runway on landing. 2nd incident of week. Nil / 4 o/b Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia (op by Transmile Air).
27 Feb 0920L Dulles Int/l 737-300 of UAL Flt UA41 Flames & smoke were seen from wing during taxi out. Nil Crew returned a/c to gate immediately & new eng's flames were exting'd.
27 Feb ~1800L Pease AFB, N.H. KC135 tanker of Turkish AF Diverted into Pease a/p after leak occurred in 30,000 gal int fuel tank. Nil / 7 o/b Improperly fitted gland seal.
28 Feb ~1400L Chico, Calif. C130 of U.S. Coast Guard Emergency diversion & landing after three of four generators failed Nil Headed McClellan AFB, Calif. No gear locked lights complicated matters.
