20 Jan. Auckland NZ A340-300 of Cathay Pacific Flt CX108 dragged its tail on take-off and proceeded enroute to Hong Kong. Nil / 140 pax Pilots grounded.
21 Jan. 1810L Ellsworth AFB SD MD80 of AA Flt: 1321 Landed Ellsworth Air Force Base with an unspecified electrical emergency. Nil / 57 pax Seattle -.Chicago flight needed longer runway than Rapid City Regional A/P.
21 Jan. 2010Z Grande Prairie Alb C208B Caravan of Alta Flights C-FAFG deptd for Fort Nelson, then requested a return for c'pit smoke. Nil Suspected ingestion of de-icer fluid contaminating bleed air.
22 Jan. Yellowknife Canada 737-201 of Air Norterra MPE349 deptd r/way 15 and at 5nm south asked to return due gear probs. Nil Landed R33. Gear would not retract.
22 Jan. 1647Z Mirabel Montreal L-1011 of Air Transat TSC040 Pilot requested fuel dump and a return to land after a sudden engine failure. Nil Enroute to Barbados.
22 Jan. 0349L La Guardia NY MD80 of AA Flt: 1506 Wing struck tail of AA MD-80 Flt346 at C3 while being towed into gate D2. Nil Minor damage to both a/c, Flt 1506 was under tow.
22 Jan. 1207L New Orleans La EMB145 of Chautauqua Flt 6472 reptd an eng fire on pushback and pax were evac'd via the airstairs. Nil Fire was extinguished and a/c towed to hangar.
22 Jan. Paris CDG A/P A320 of Lotus Air-operating for Marmara AirTour Grounded by French DGCA after APU exploded & caught fire leaving a 40cm wide hole and debris on tarmac. Nil / 134 pax & 5 crew Measure triggered by pilot refusing to submit incident report and attempting to depart SU-LBE for Egypt with pax.
22 Jan. Irkutsk East Siberia Tu-154 of Chelyabinsk Air Departed for Moscow, reported an emerg (cracked cockpit glass) returned. Nil / 56 pax & 7 crew Held for three hours burning off fuel.
23 Jan. 0020L Aomori A/P Japan 737 of KAL Flt: KAL767 Flt inbound from Inchon became bogged in deep snow and was towed in. Nil / 119 pax & 8 crew Landed during a blizzard and departed the runway in bad visibility.
23 Jan. Changi A/P Singapore 777 of SIA A/C partly left r'way 20R side in heavy rain on that ungrooved runway. Nil 3 burst tires in 800m visibility and with reported medium braking action.
24 Jan. Hamburg, Germany MD82 of Nordic Reg: SE-RBE Carried out an emerg landing with smoke and fumes in the aft galley. Nil Arlanda (Stockholm) to Grenoble. No further details.
24 Jan. Lyon, France 757 of Thomas Cook TCX235 A/c told to find its own way to parking C41 after landing 18L, struck a pole. Nil G-JMAB grounded for >2 months at a cost of 5M Euros. Right wing damage.

25 Jan. 0054L Englewood Colo. Citation 650 Reg:N444EX Nose and right main gear slid off the runway on landing. Nil / 5 o/b Minor damage.
25 Jan. Dakar, Senegal 747-400 of SAA Reg:ZS-SAX Alitalia 767 struck a parked SAA 747 damaging its rudder and fuselage. Nil / 180 pax Flight SA203 bound NY.
25 Jan. 1140L Atlanta, Ga. CRJ-100 Reg: N913EV A/c & vehicle collided on ramp 4 between gates C1 and D22. Nil Atlantic SE Airlines a/c sustained right wingtip damage.
26 Jan. 1542Z Dorval, Quebec CL600-2B19(RJ) of Air Canada ACA862 deptd 06R for Washington & asked to return with an eng problem. Nil No further details.
26 Jan. 0419L Indianapolis Intl Ind 757-33N of ATA Reg: N551TZ Hit wake turbulence just prior to touchdown and struck tail on r/way. Nil Operational hazard - minor damage Arriving from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
