In addition, the leading edge of the right horizontal stabilizer had been struck and required replacement.

30 Nov ~0130L Suleyman Demirel Airport (LTFC) near Isparta	MD83 of Atlas Jet Flight KK4203 (Istanbul to Isparta) Reg: TC-AKM	On approach runway 05 aircraft lost height and impacted terrain about 6-7 NM west of the airport killing all 56 people on board. The aircraft collided in darkness with mountainous terrain at 6000 feet. Fuselage ended up 500ft below the wings and engines (left up on a ridge).	All 49 passengers & 7 crew dead	According to early reports the weather consisted of good visibility no rain and calm winds. Three survivors were helo-lifted out in -20 deg C temperatures to Armstrong Ontario.

01 Dec 0740L Des Moines, Iowa	CRJ200 of United Express Flight UA7244	Whilst taxiing for line-up on runway 13, the aircraft (Des Moines to: Chicago) skidded off the right side of the taxiway coming to rest on uneven ground. At the time weather consisted of slippery (icy) conditions. The airport remained closed for 7 hours.	Nil/44 passengers	Earlier in the morning, Northwest Flight 5603 to Minneapolis, also a regional jet, slid on its taxiway about 7 am with 40 passengers and three crew aboard. But only its nose wheel went off the taxiway, pilots were able to free it without incident.

02 Dec 1120L Panamericana Sur highway	Cessna 208B Grand Caravan Reg: OB-1740 of the Peruvian airline Aerocondor Peru	C208 made a forced landing on the Panamericana Sur. The pilot was forced to return to the airport because of technical problems, but was then compelled to carry out a forced landing. 04 Dec 2210Z Victoria Harbour (CYWH) Province: British Columbia	Dehavilland DHC 6 100 of West Coast Air Flight: WCA605	Flight WCA605, a DHC6, experienced an engine failure enroute, declared an emergency at Active Pass, and continued to Pat Bay for a forced landing. WCA605 landed at 2225Z.	There were possible minor injuries.	VFR Vancouver Harbour to Victoria Harbour. The RCMP water vessel retrieved WCA605.

05 Dec ~0654L Rickenbacker International Airport	Cessna C208B of Castle Aviation Inc (owner: Avion Capital Corp. of Anchorage, Alaska.)	Freight-plane N28MG lost contact with the airport air traffic control tower shortly after its takeoff for Buffalo NY at about 7 a.m. and it crashed in Pickaway County, one mile south of the airport soon after.	2 dead/2 onboard	Heavy snow was falling across central Ohio at the time of the crash.
