25 March Seville, Spain 737-6D6 of Air Algerie 7T-VJQ Main-gear collapsed after very hard and rough landing at Seville. Nil Might be first 737NG write-off.
10 April 1430L Athens, Greece A340-300 of Olympic OA269 A/c was forced to return to Athens after takeoff with smoke alarm. Nil Bound for Heathrow.
11 April 0340L SeaTac a/p, Seattle 747-400 of EVA Aircraft circled for 25 mins unable to get response from tower. Nil 0315 to 0340 silence remains unexplained. Fix is to have 2 oprtrs.
12 April 1422L Prestwick, UK 737 of Ryanair Flt FR025 Captain reported threat note had been found onboard & diverted. Nil En route from Beauvais, France, to Dublin, Ireland.
13 April ~1700L Belfast, N. Ireland A319 of EasyJet Flt EZY554 Pilot forced to return after 10-man fight broke out in cabin after takeoff. Nil / 139 pax Took off again for Newcastle after 90 mins, minus the ten belligerents.
14 April La Paz, Bolivia C208B Caravan of Amaszonas Forced landing by Caravan CP-2413 with engine failure at El Alto, Bolivia. Nil / 9 pax + 1 crew Headed to Rurrenabaque with load of tourists. A/c was undamaged.
14 April 2230Z Indianapolis Falcon 20 Reg N722JB While en route, cowling separated from LH eng & hit horiz stabilizer. Nil Springfield, Ill., to Dayton, Ohio. Substantial damage.
14 April dawn Addis Ababa, Eth 767 of Ethiopian Flt EAL609 Apparently healthy 25 yr-old man died onboard just before landing. 1 dead Taken to Menelik II Hospital for autopsy after landing at Bole airport from BKK.
14 April ~1350Z Kinshasa, DRC C130H of DRC Air Force 9T-TCB written off after LH main-gear collapse on test-flight landing. Nil ...After being parked for many years. Initially reptd as 737-200QC 9Q-CNK.
15 April day Bordon, UK Hot Air Balloon of Toucan Travel Hit 132,000V high tension wires and crashed in a field on industrial estate nil/pilot +10 pax widespread regional power losses
15 April Moshi, Tanzania Cessna C208B Caravan Crash-landed in sisal plantation 400 kms West of Moshi destination. Nil / 9 onboard Medical team transport forced off course and lost in torrential rain.
15 April morning New Delhi, India A320 of Air Deccan Flight cancelled after boarding ladder dmgd horizontal stabilizer. Nil Bagdogra, Bengal, bound flight.
15 April 0656L Uralsk, Kazakhstan 747-436 of BA Flt BA010 Sydney-BKK-LHR flight diverted with false cargo smoke warning. Nil / 354 pax Three A320s flew pax out to Heathrow as Uralsk airport is not rated for 747s.
16 April 1137L Guayaramerin, Bol Fokker F27-400 of TAM FAB-91 A/c ran off runway on landing. Very substantially damaged. 1 dead / 31 onboard Riberalta to Guayaramerin. A/c written off.
16 April 0149Z Romulus, Mich. CL600-2B19 of Pinnacle Flt FLG5802 had birdstrike in LH engine & LH fuselage & returned. Nil Reg N8412F was Detroit for Knoxville, Tenn., via Romulus.
16 April 1308Z St Thomas, Vl PA31 of Dept of Justice N554DJ Navajo lost pwr in both engines 2 mls off St Thomas coast, ditched & sank. 7 onboard rescued 1 crew, 2 guards, 4 prisoners had deptd St Croix for St Thomas.
16 April night London Gatwick A321 of First Choice A/c landed back at LGW overweight following pressurization problems. Nil Very hot brakes required a/c to be held in isolated area.
16 Apr Warsaw, Poland A320 of BA Flt BA0847 A/c took 2 seagulls down #1 eng at 120 kts and rejected its takeoff. Nil Warsaw to Heathrow. Replacement a/c came from LHR to pick up pax.
16 April Tel Aviv, Israel 737 of El Al A/c landed back at Ben Gurion a/p after wheel exploded on takeoff. Nil / 107 o/b Bound for Moscow.
16 April ~1154L Gainsville, Fla. Beech 60 Duke Reg N999DE Lost directional control on landing & plowed into terminal building. 3 dead / 3 o/b On test flight for new type autopilot. Small fire was soon extinguished.
17 April 0740Z Phoenix 737 of SWA On pushback 737 struck its wingtip on elevator of another SWA 737. Nil Minor damage.
17 April 0450L Goose Bay, Labr. A330-300 of Aer Lingus Flt EI124 Crew diverted urgently into Goose Bay with smell of burning plastic. Nil / 303 pax +12 crew Chicago-Shannon via Dublin. An Aer Lingus flt was divtd in w/ spare parts.
17 April Kano, Nigeria Antonov 2T Reg N1011G US reg'd a/c now banned by Nigeria for devious nocomms routing. Nil Expected in Kano, a/c later turned up in Cameroon after declared missing.
18 April 1054L Manila, Philippines A340-300 of PAL Flt PR811 Landed back @ Ninoy Aquino a/p after landing gear failed to retract. Nil / 295 pax +14 o/b Hydraulic system failure.
19 April afternoon Lake Charles Regnl 737 of Continental Emerg landing after cabin became v hot & cabin pressurization lost. Nil / 114 o/b Flt 1699 - Houston to New Orleans.
19 April Madrid, Spain 737 of KLM Flt 1706 A/c returned twice, both times after 10 mins inflt, before flt was cancelled. Nil Unknown recurring defect. Flt bound for Amsterdam, Holland.
19 April 1602Z Morrisville, NC EMB135 of American Eagle EGF646 aborted takeoff, reptd smoke in cabin & cockpit. Evacuated pax. 1 inj / 17 pax +3 crew Raleigh-Durham a/p, N.C., for Newark, N.J.
20 April Ellijah, Ga. Cessna P210A Reg N679X A/c crashed 50 mls NW of Atlanta in area of thunderstorms. 1 dead 85 yo Scott Crossfield test piloted the Douglas Skyrocket to Mach 2 in 1953.
20 April Bangor, Maine 747-400 of BA Flt BA297 A/c diverted enrt into Bangor for 3 hours to discharge dead passenger. 1 died aboard Heathrow to Orlando, Fla.
20 April day New Orleans Int'l EMB190 of JetBlue N183JB diverted into New Orleans with #2 engine problems. Nil Austin, Texas, to NY jfk. A/c reportedly had bleed air fault message.
