17 Aug Cairns Qld 737-800 of QANTAS QF800 ingested "birds" on t/off and left engine failed. Nil / 126 o/b Later reptd to have been a dense flock of fruit bats.
17 Aug Honolulu A340 of Air Canada Landed back 45m after blowing two tires on t/off Honolulu (for Sydney) Nil / 176 o/b 8R (t/off) and 8L(landing) runways were closed for insp. No further details.

17 Aug Manchester UK 757 Air Scandic (op Finnair) Re-landed for a suspected blown tire on left main gear. Nil / 231 False alarm (sticky oleo made loud noise after lift-off).
18 Aug 1127L North Atlantic & Keflavik Iceland 747-400 of Air Canada flt:783 C-GAGN A/c declared Mayday & diverted 1054kms to Keflavik after fire broke out and heavy smoke filled cabin. Nil / 269 pax & 13 crew Malfunctioning recirculation fan. Landed 1238, 71 mins after incident started (midway Frankfurt-Toronto).
18 Aug 2015BST Duxford UK Bristol Blenheim restored bomber A/c clipped earthbank near threshold, wiped gear and slid to halt. Nil / 2 o/b A/c wings and fuselage buckled in ensuing slide. Last of type.
19 Aug Stansted, UK L-1011 of Air Luxor Slow nose high approach led to landing tailstrike. Nil STN closed for unk period. A/c awaits repair at compass base.
19 Aug DO328jet SYX2274 #1 eng took birds on t/off. Nil Skyways a/c returned Omaha Neb.
20 Aug 0315 Muskegon Mich. B1900 of Skyways Airlines SYX1411 hit a deer on landing runway 6. Nil A/c reported "disabled."
20 Aug 0325L 757 of US Airlines F/A fell & punctured lung. 1 inj USA 642 enrt Phila. to Las Vegas.
21 Aug Kamchatka Pen Mi-8 of Russian Air Ministry Missing on flt Petropavlovsk to Severo Kurilsk (Kurile Islands). Likely down Kamchatka Peninsula. 17 missing Missing include Governor of Sakhalin. Defense Force exercise diverted to search a large area of coast & ocean.
