24 June 2150Z; Los Angeles Int'l Airport (LAX), Calif. A320-211 of Air Canada ; Reg: C-FPWD ACA792 developed a severe landing-gear shimmy at 140kts on take-off and was advised of a blown tire and liquid streaming. ECAM msg of hydfail at 1500ft and a/c landed back overweight. Nil ARFF advised after landing that right main gear was on fire - and moved in. A/c was towed to gate and pax deplaned. Rt main gear tire cap had failed, extensively damaging stbd flap.
3 July 2015Z; O'Hare (Chicago),; Il. A319 of Air Canada; Reg: C-FYJE ACA817 lost both flight management guidance computers in the hold followed by autopilots, autothrust and cabin pressn #1 (then #2). Nil ATC cancelled their hold after crew advised navigational and weather radar inabilities with thunderstorms in the area. #2 FMGC replaced by maint.
5 July 2230Z; Deline, Canada Cessna 208B of North-Wright C-GDLC reported "lost forward thrust" & requested tow off runway.y Nil Improperly installed guide-pin bracket assembly meant prop was stuck in reverse.
7 July 1810Z; Kamloops B.C. AeroCommander 690A of Conair Enrt at 17,000ft, pilots of C-GDCL noted smoke billow atop dashboard. Nil Metal ring of appch plate binder had shorted out windshield heat terminal.
8 July 1716Z; Hamilton, Ontario EMB 145ER of American Eagle Crew of EGF224 reptd losing #2 eng at FL310 & reqstd diversion Buffalo, N.Y. Nil Syracuse, N.Y., to Chicago (O'Hare) Illinois
9 July 1530Z; Enrt Man - Toronto A310-308 of Air Transat C-GFAT Flt TSC421 suffered hyd fail enroute and had to shut down on the runway. Nil Problem vicinity green pump-valve #1 eng. R/way contaminated by hydfluid.
11 July 2010Z; Toronto, Ontario CL600-2B19(RJ); Express Airlines Flt crew advised unable to extend flaps and requested r/way 15 for arrival. Nil Minneapolis to Toronto flight.
12 July 1535L; Dallas Ft. Worth A340-313X of Lufthansa LH439 aborted take-off at high speed after smoke was reported emanating Nil Reg D-AIGO; Report believed initiated by ATC.
13 July; South Bend, Ind. 737 of SWA Flt 933 diverted in enrt Midway A/P Chicago with smoke in cockpit/cabin. Nil Pax retrieved by another SWA a/c. Pilot reported his eyes "were burning."
14 July 1718L; Ottawa Intl Canada RJ-145 of US Awys Express US3504 overran runway on landing, coming to rest on rough ground. Nil / 28 pax Arriving from Pittsburgh, Pa. Minor damage.
15 July 0900L; Chennai, India A320 of Indian Airlines IC-972 A/c lost pressurization and had to descend prematurely for its approach. Nil / 103 o/b 2nd such Indian Airlines event in 3 days.
15 July 0800L; Delhi Intl, India A300-600R of Kuwait Awys Burst at least one tire during t/off but cont'd to Kuwait City and landed OK. Nil Flt KU382. Regn: 9K-AMD; No further details.
15 July 1800; Narita, Tokyo Japan 2 x 747's of JAL and ANA Departing ANA2179 ended up face-to-face on taxiway Alpha with JAL948, another 747 just arrived from Saipan. Nil Just a passing fancy. Jumbo Jumble-Jam involving much towing, to'ing and fro'ing and loss of face-to-face.
17 July 1602L; Heathrow, UK A300 of Lufthansa LH4758 declared Mayday with smoke in cockpit and landed 20 mins early. Nil / >200pax Munich - London
17 July 0945L; Spokane, Wash. CRJ200 of Skywest Flt3920 landed Fairchild AFB a few minutes after t/off from Spokane Intl. Nil / 50 pax Needed extra length due hyd problem. Unavail Spokane r/way shortened by works.
17 July 1135L; Fiumicino, Italy 767-300ER of Blue Panorama EI-CXO landed back heavy on runway 34L 3mins after a right eng fire on t/off. 19 inj / 273 pax / 10 crew Flt BV1504 (Milan-Rome-Havana). Landed r/way 34L (deflating all tires).
17 July 1620L; Hamilton Island Qld., Australia 717 of Jetstar; 737 of Qantas ATSB investigating near-miss between JS711 on departure & QF flt's arrival. Nil Believed to have been a TCAS RA within the circuit area Hamilton Island.
18 July; Edmonton Nth, Alberta, Canada CL-215 of Conair Group Water-bomber landed on gravel highway after blowing an engine. Nil dmg Hwy88 between Red Earth Creek & Ft Vermilion (400km N of Edmonton).
19 July 0530L; Charleston AFB, SC C17 Globemaster of 437th AMS Avionics technician crushed to death under a wing spoiler during maint. 1 fatal Assuming an inadvertent reconnection or actuation by a 3rd party.
19 July 1137L; Ft Lauderdale, Fla. Learjet 55 of Hop-a-Jet N55LF overran on landing and slid through fence, shearing off both MLGs 1 inj / 2; o/b A/P closed for 2.5hrs while a/c removed. (arriving from Hollywood Intl).
20 July; Moscow, Russia IL76 of Aviaenergo Drunken crewmembers beat up a pax after he complained about food-service 1inj Aeroflot sub-charter - Moscow to the Siberian city of Nizhnevartovsk
20 July; Washington Dulles A340-600 of Virgin Tailscraped, causing significant damage (believed on departure) Nil Air France A340 similar tailscrape at Paris(CDG) on departure 14 Jul 04.
21 July noon; Alicante, Spain MD-83 of Spanair Lt eng failed at 3000ft on dept (poss birdstrk) and a/c landed back/evac'd. 19inj / 148 pax Enrt Palma de Mallorca. P&W JT8-D219's. Pax inj'd during evacuation.
21 July evening; Mexico City DC-9 of AeroCalifornia Outbound flt slid off the runway end in heavy rain during dept for Durango. 3 inj A/c badly damaged. Some pax hailed taxis on hwy & deptd after evac.
