North American Jet Charter Group, LLC, is bringing another VLJ operation to Florida, this time in
DayJet’s back yard at Boca Raton. Based at Boca Aviation at Boca Raton Airport (BCT), North American is making its Eclipse 500 available for charters to the Bahamas and throughout the Florida region after taking delivery of its first Florida-bound, two-pilot, four-passenger VLJ on June 6.

“We are very pleased to offer the South Florida market the first whole-plane VLJ air taxi service,” said CEO and President Ken Ross. “The Eclipse is the ideal aircraft for people who want to travel to the islands or to destinations within 500 miles. Its low operating costs and light carbon footprint make it an affordable alternative to scheduled airline service and a great way to reach hard-to-reach destinations. And for people used to chartering larger jets, they’ll be astonished at the value.”
North American Jet Charter Group plans to expand its VLJ fleet to accommodate the increasing number of Eclipses being delivered throughout the United States. “Our expertise in managing and operating the Eclipse enables us to put aircraft on our Part 135 certificate in less than a week,” said Ross. “We’re actively seeking additional aircraft to base in Florida and other parts of the country.”
In June 2007, the company operated the world’s first passenger revenue flight on a VLJ. Since then, North American Jet has expanded its VLJ fleet to six, with five Eclipses based at Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, IL where it also manages Lear 35s and Cessna Sovereigns.
