19 Jan. Seattle, Wash. DHC-8 of JAZZ Reg: C-GTAQ Flt was cleared to land r/way 16R but landed on taxiway Tango. Nil Missed the large X. Trick of the light.
25 Feb. 1619Z Calgary, Canada, to Cancun, Mexico 737-700 of WestJet Flt:WJA1382 Reg: C-GUWS 2hrs into flt a "Stab out of trim" light caused pilots to consult maint & pull-reset CB's in attempts to regain electrical control. Finally the stabilizer jammed totally (& CB's were pulled). Nil Shades of Alaska 261? Might be best to assume possible impending jack-screw mechanical failure (and cease playing fix-it games with the electric motors). This drill needs looking at.
01 March 2330Z Marshall, Minn. Learjet 24 Reg: N105GA A/c went off the end into an unpaved area on landing. Nil / 4 o/b Arriving from Grand Junction, Colorado.
01 March 2025Z San Francisco 757 of Delta Flight 251 Struck by a fuel truck while taxiing to Gate 46 Nil Right engine and fuel truck damaged.
03 March 1953Z St Paul Is., Alaska Fairchild SA227 Reg: N2719H Veered left on touchdown on heavily contaminated unsealed surface, hitting runway light with left prop. Nil St Paul Is r'way in poor condition with 2" snow and slush (see item below). Both props bent & window broken.
04 March 1123Z Toronto, Ontario CL600-2B19(RJ) of Comair Com883 reptd #2 engine vibration followed by its failure - and returned Nil Flames and sparking material seen to fall fm N976CA (suspect FOD ingestion).
04 March 1111Z London, Ontario C DHC-8 of JAZZ Reg: C-FACF Flt crew noticed smoke pouring from o'head panel during preflight checks. Nil Crew pulled power and decamped (overheating rheostat).
04 March 0115Z St Paul Is., Alaska Fairchild SA227 Reg:N41NE Hit a soft spot on the runway, damaging a prop. Nil / 12 o/b Peninsula Airways - MetroLiner arriving from Anchorage, Alaska.
04 March after-noon Peachtree Dekalb Gulfstream 3 of 448 Alliance LLC Rolled off the end of the North Atlanta runway 20L -became mired in the mud. Nil No damage to the 19 seater aircraft. Incident occurred after heavy snow.
04 March 1401Z Springdale, Ark. Beech 200 Reg: N30SE Pilot lost directional control and ended up on grass in front of the terminal.
Arriving from Stuttgart, Arkansas. Right MLG collapsed - runway 18.
04 March Morocco MD83 of Austrian OE-LMD wing struck by fuel truck. Nil Earthquake relief (rt wg bad damage)
05 March 0259Z Denver, Colo. Falcon 50 Reg: N56LT Slid off runway 29 Jeffco A/P on landing in challenging weather. Nil / 2 o/b Nil damage.
05 March 2015L Denver, Colo. Two A320 a/c of United Airlines UA1443 bound Ontario & TED831 (Phoenix) winglets hit after pushback. Nil N467UA vs N482UA. Took >1 hour to separate 2x A320-232. No fuel spilled.
05 March late a.m. hours Hat Yai,Thailand C130 of Royal Thai Air Force VIP a/c carrying a clutch of Provincial Governors made a MLG up landing. Nil Only NLG would extend for landing at Hat Yai Intl Airport.
05 March early p.m. Atlanta, Ga. 717 of Airtran Flight 852 A/c ret'd immed to Hartfield-Jackson with generator failure & strong electrical odor. Nil / 123 o/b Smell preceded by earlier spurious EICAS warning. Evac'd on runway.
06 March (night) Coronado, Calif. L-1011 charter Aircraft grounded by collision with support equipment at North Is. NAS Nil Carrying USN and USCG reservist personnel to the Gulf. A/c replaced.
06 March a.m. hrs Wichita, Kansas 717-200 of Airtran A/c circled Mid-Continent A/P for 1.5 hrs after being unable to retract NLG. Nil Landed for a fix. Flt 2198 Wichita to Atlanta.
06 March 2040Z Sacramento, Calif. 737-300 of SWA Reg: N675AA SWA753 ingested birds from a flock struck on finals 34L at 500ft. Nil Flocking suicide (see item Flt 835 below, also at Sacramento).
06 March 0630Z Atlantic City, N.J. A319 of Frontier Reg: N922FR FFT9922 struck jetway during taxi for runway 22 for departure. Nil Extent of damage unknown.
07 March 0243Z Sacramento, Calif. 737-300 of America West Flt 835 ingested two birds into right engine on short finals 16L. Nil Damage to N160AW unknown - bird control program required.
07 March 1555L Jakarta, Indonesia 737 of Mandala Aircraft skidded off the runway at Sal Airport on landing. nil Posing removal problems due lack of lifting gear. Extensively damaged.
07 March Fokker50 PK-TWF deptd runway onto grass. Nil Trng. Ostend Belgium (touch & go).
08 March 1427Z New Orleans, La. 737-700 of SWA SWA136 reptd a birdstrike on dept and returned with an engine problem. Nil No further details.
08 March 1334Z Washington-Dulles 757 of United Flt: UAL8145 Struck several birds with left main gear on departure and returned. Nil Washington-LAX flight. Damage unknown.
09 March 1330L Chennai, India A330-300 of Thai International Departed the runway on landing and the NLG became stuck in the mud. Nil / 317 pax Towed out, inspected and departed 1445L for Bangkok.
09 March 0554Z Las Vegas, Nevada 737-700 of America West Reg: N158AW AWE115 reptd smoke and fire/sparks in cockpit o'head panel -used handheld fire-extinguisher to control it. Nil Minor fire damage during cruise. Minneapolis for Las Vegas.
10 Mar 0442Z Miramar MCAS, Calif. Citation 560 (military UC-35) MARINE TORY 35 crashed and burned in a field east of Interstate15 4 fatal / 4 o/b On GCA instrument approach in fog (had departed Miramar for pilot training).
