FlightSafety Breaks Ground on GOM Center

FlightSafety International has broken ground for its new, 70,000-sq-ft. training center in Lafayette, La. Dubbed the company's Center of Excellence for rotorcraft training, the Lafayette Learning Center is scheduled to open in November with a Sikorsky Aircraft S-76 C+/C++ simulator. That sim is to be equipped with FlightSafety’s electric motion and control loading technology and advanced VITAL visual system. FlightSafety plans to install next-generation flight training devices for the Eurocopter AS350 and Bell Helicopter 206 and 407 at the center by the first quarter of 2009. Focused on training for offshore operations, the center will also offer courses for EMS, news-gathering, and law enforcement operators. It will have space for eight full-flight simulators.
