Calendar: NATA Leadership Conference March 17; IAOPA/Eurocontrol April 4

FBO’s of the Future at Leadership Conference
The National Air Transportation Association will highlight the emerging business models during a session on FBO’s of the Future at its upcoming Leadership Conference March 17-20 in Dallas. Moderated by President James Coyne, the session will include executives from Dayjet, Flight Options, XJet, Macquarie and Wilson Air. Panelists will include Traver Gruen-Kennedy, vice president, corporate and government affairs DayJet Corporation; Jim Miller, vice president, aircraft acquisitions, Flight Options LLC; Josh Stewart, founder and president, XJet; Bernard Carroll, senior vice president, Macquarie Group Ltd. and Robert Wilson, President, Wilson Air Center LLC
Everyone agrees that the FBO business is changing rapidly, but no one knows exactly what it will look like or what customers it will serve, said Coyne. The panel will represent FBO owners and customers representing fractional providers, VLJ operators and new private equity investors as they explore the forces shaping tomorrow's aviation service businesses. IAOPA Co-Sponsors Eurocontrol Conference
This joint Eurocontrol/IAOPA (International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations) one day Aviation Forum will be held on April 4 in the Europa Conference Room at Eurocontrol in Brussels and will be open to everyone with an interest in general and/or business aviation issues. The day will be filled with a series of presentations on Airspace, Traffic Trends, Future Technologies and Safety matters that are of direct interest and which directly affect general and business aviation.
The Forum will include such topics as Airspace – the battle for sky to fly; Trends in Air Traffic, International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations (IS BAO); Future Technologies – the Drivers, the Need, the Cost, and Safety – Is it my worry? It will be opened by Eurocontrol Director General, David McMillan, and co-chaired by IAOPA President Phil Boyer, and Eurocontrol’s Deputy Director ATM Strategies, Lex Hendriks. Speakers from IAOPA, EBAA (European Business Aviation Association), the European Commission, the Aeronautics Industry, the European Aviation Safety Agency and Eurocontrol are planned.
