Heli-Expo 08: EC225's FAA Ticket, and Other News

Here's a round-up of other news from Heli-Expo 2008's first day in Houston. Check back occasionally for additional news:

On Jan. 30, the EC225 received its type certification from the FAA. The way is now cleared for the commercial operation in the United States of this twin-engine aircraft in the 11 metric ton class.

In less than 12 months, Sagem Avionics, Inc. and ACROHELIPRO Global Services, Inc. have delivered on their promise to make the Sagem industry-leading glass cockpit display system (ICDS) more widely available to helicopter operators.

Pratt & Whitney Canada has launched an all-new Fleet Management Program designed to meet the wide-ranging engine maintenance needs of helicopter customers around the world.

Copterline of Finland has taken delivery of the first of two AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters. It will soon enter service operating scheduled flights between Helsinki, Finland  and Tallinn, Estonia.
