Cayman Police Purchase Own Helicopter

Police in the Cayman Islands will soon be flying their own police helicopter, according to the newspaper      Cay Compass. The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service last week bought a 1999 Eurocopter EC135T1 for $1.8 million. Additional costs were added for police equipment. The aircraft is not expected to be in the Cayman Islands until the first week of September. Until the helicopter is delivered, the Cayman police may continue to call on Cayman Island Helicopters, a private tour company, in emergency situations. For related news
